BIRTH CERTIFICATE

Question: How to attest a birth certificate?

Answer: Personal presence of the birth certificate holder (if adult) or one of the parent incase of a minor, along with the following documents :

  1. Valid passport in original and a photocopy (first / last and valid visa page) of the birth certificate holder or one of the parents incase of a minor.
  2. Original birth certificate and a photocopy attested by the following:
    • Notary public of the district where the child was born.
      Home Department of the state/union territory where the child was born.

In case the document was issued by authorities in the UAE, the document have to be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dubai / Sharjah.

EDUCATION / TRANSFER CERTIFICATE

Question: How to get an Educational/ Transfer certificate attested?

Answer: Personal presence of the certificate holder or either of the parents incase of a minor at the Consulate with the following documents :

  1. Valid passport in original of the certificate holder or one of the parent incase of a minor.
  2. Passport photocopy (first / last and valid visa page) of the certificate holder and one of the parent (in case of a proxy applicant, original passport of one of the parent is required along with the original passport and copy of the proxy applicant).
  3. Certificates originating from India issued by universities and other Institutions of higher studies have to be attested by:
    • Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education of the same State.
    • Consular Section, Ministry of External Affairs, Patiala House, New Delhi
    • UAE Consulate in Mumbai or UAE Embassy in New Delhi.

  4. School certificate up to class XII (higher secondary level) issued by the educational institutions in India, in original and a photocopy, have to be attested by :
    • District education authorities of the concerned state / union territory (District Education Officer).

SPONSORSHIP DECLARATION

Question: Why do I need a sponsorship declaration and what is the procedure to get it attested?

Answer: Sponsorship declaration is required by the Indian Immigration at some of the Indian Airports to support the travel and stay in UAE. The following is required to make a sponsorship declaration:

  1. Personal presence of the person making the sponsorship declaration.
  2. Valid passport in original with photocopy (first / last and valid visa page) of the applicant.
  3. Passport copy of the person who is being sponsored along with the visa copy.
  4. Proof to show relationship of the person being sponsored with the person making the declaration. (*a lady is not allowed to be sponsored unless she is a wife / dependant daughter / sister of the person sponsoring her).
  5. Salary certificate of the person sponsoring (English translation of all certificates in Arabic, is mandatory).
  6. In case the sponsorship declaration is executed for sponsoring the spouse of the executant, copy of the marriage certificate have to be attached.
  7. All affidavit/declaration/documents made on behalf of wife/children/wifes relatives spouse name needs to be endorsed in each others passport.

Sponsorship Declaration to be executed by a Foreign National

A UAE National executing the Sponsorship Declaration, have to produce an undertaking issued by the local court stating that the sponsor will take care of the sponsored person during his / her stay in the UAE. This undertaking has to be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dubai/ Sharjah. The sponsor also has to produce his / her income proof.

A Foreign National (other than a UAE national) has to get his / her photo and signature attested by the Consulate / Embassy concerned in the UAE and the same to be countersigned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dubai/Sharjah. The sponsor also has to produce his income proof.

DIRECTOR INDENTIFICATION NUMBER (DIN) APPLICATION / TRADE DOCUMENTS (sales deeds / MOU / Agreements)

Question: What is required to attest a DIN / Trade document form?

Answer: DIN / Trade document applied by an Indian / Foreign national, is required to come to the Consulate with the following documents:

  1. Valid passport in original of the deponent, with a photocopy (first / last and valid visa page).
  2. DIN / trade documents in original and a photocopy.
  3. Two colour passport size photographs.
  4. Proof of address in the UAE (telephone /DEWA bill).
  5. Applicant is required to come to the consulate and sign in the presence of the Consular Officer.

DIN / trade documents applied by a UAE / Foreign national, in addition to the above, he/she is required to get their photograph and signature attested by a local court or concerned Consulate / Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dubai / Sharjah.

Incase of a proxy an authorization letter issued by the company or individual is required along with his original passport and photocopy.

GIFT DEED

Question: How do I get a gift deed attested?

Answer: You are required to come to the consulate with the following documents:

  1. Personal presence of the person executing the deed.
  2. Valid passport in original and a photocopy (first / last and valid visa page).
  3. Bank statement for the last 3 months
  4. Source of income (salary certificate / trade license in his/her name)
  5. Proof of mode of money transfer (bank statement / cheque copy)

Question: How do I get documents such as court affidavit, surety bond and indemnity bond etc. attested?

Answer:
The following is required :

  1. Valid passport in original and photocopies (first / last and valid visa page) of the parties involved.
  2. In case of a proxy, valid passport in original and a photocopy (first / last and valid visa page) of the person presenting the documents to the Consular Officer.
  3. Incase of a proxy an authorization letter issued by the company or individual is required.
  4. Original documents issued in India should be attested by the Ministry of the External Affairs, New Delhi.

UAE Nationals

If the applicant is a UAE National, he / she has to produce the document attested by the local court and countersigned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dubai / Sharjah. The applicant has to be present at the Consulate along with the above attested document with his/her valid passport in original and a photocopy.

UNDERTAKING EXPENSES FOR STUDIES

Question: What documents are required to make an undertaking to provide financial support for higher education?

Answer: To provide financial support for higher education the following documents are required ;

  1. Valid passport in original with photocopy (first / last and valid visa page) of the person pledging financial support.
  2. Salary certificate in original or labour contract copy.
  3. Bank statement for last six months.
  4. Passport photocopy of the student.

Question: How to get a marriage certificate attested?

Personal presence of either of the spouse, with the following documents:

  1. Valid passport in original of the spouse present at the Consulate.
  2. Passport photocopy (first / last and valid visa page) of both the spouses.
  3. Original and photocopy of the marriage certificate attested by:
    • Notary public of the district concerned
    • Home department of the concerned state/ union territory.

Question: How do I get my Indian driving licence attested?

Answer: Personal presence of the applicant at the Consulate with the following documents:

  2. Original valid driving licence and its photocopy.
  3. Sworn affidavit and its photocopy, in the prescribed format typed in English & Arabic. (This form has to be signed in the presence of the Consular Officer).

Question: How do I get my medical certificate issued from India attested?

Answer:
The following documents is required to get a medical certificate attested :

  1. Personal presence of the person whose medical certificate is to be attested.
  2. Valid passport in original with photocopy (first / last and valid visa page).
  3. Original medical certificate with photocopy, attested by the following :
    • Notary public of the district from where the certificate was issued.
    • Home Department of the state/union territory.

BACHELORHOOD CERTIFICATE

Question: How do I get a bachelorhood certificate attested?

Answer: The person has to procure a decree from a competent court in India affixed with a seal of the court. If such a decree is produced, Consulate will authenticate the correctness of the certificate. The certificate has to be produced along with the following documents :

  1. Personal presence of the applicant.
  2. Valid passport in original and photocopy (first / last and valid visa page).
  3. Original certificate with a photocopy.

Question: How do I get a 'no - relationship' affidavit attested required for processing resident visa of a maid?

Answer:

DIVORCE DECREE

Question: What is required to get divorce papers attested?

Answer: Personal presence of the applicant along with the following documents :

  1. Valid passport in original with photocopy (first / last and valid visa page) of the applicant.
  2. In case the divorce has been obtained in India, the divorce decree is required to be issued by a competent court in India.

    In case the divorce decree has been issued by authorities in Dubai, Sharjah, Umm al-Qaiwain, Ras al-Khaimah, Ajman or Fujairah, the divorce decree should be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dubai / Sharjah.

LIFE CERTIFICATE

Question: How to get a life certificate attested?

Answer:
Personal presence at the consulate, of the pensioner with the following documents :

  1. Valid passport in original with photocopy (first / last and valid visa page).
  2. Original Pension Order and a copy thereof along with an Identification of work proof.
  3. Duly filled Life Certificate Form

    *Attestation fee is waived off for Ex-servicemen only. However, a service fee of AED 10/- is chargeable.
    (Discherge Book/ Ex-Servicemen Identity Card are required to waive attestation fee for Ex-Servicemen/Ex-Servicemen widow.

    *Additional copy of the Life Certificate to be attested will bear the total applicable fee of AED 60/-

Question: How do I attest a death certificate?

Answer: Death certificate originating from India should be attested by the Home Department of the concerned state before attestation at the Consulate Genaral of India, Dubai.

Death Certificate issued by authorities in the UAE, have to be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dubai / Sharjah before attestation at the Consulate General of India, Dubai.

Applicant is required to produce his/her valid passport in original and a photocopy (first / last and valid visa page).

POWER OF ATTORNEY

Question: What is the procedure for getting a Power of Attorney attested?
Answer: Power of Attorney can either be on a plain paper or stamp paper as per your requirement or as advised by your lawyer.

Personal presence of the executant / s at the Consulate with the following documents:

  1. Valid passport in original with photocopy (first / last and valid visa page) of the executant /s.
  2. Original Power of Attorney and its photocopy. This document has to be signed in the presence of the Consular Officer.
  3. Two current passport size photographs of the executant /s.
  • Fees may vary in case of documents to be used for commercial purpose.

Question: How do I get my WILL executed?

Answer : Personal presence of the executant/s with the following documents :

  1. Valid passport in original of the executant/s, with photocopy (first / last and valid visa page).
  2. Original WILL and its photocopy. This document is to be signed in the presence of the Consular Officer.
  3. Personal presence of two Indian nationals known to the executant/s, as witnesses (other than the beneficiary).
  4. Valid passports in original with photocopy (first / last and valid visa page), of the witnesses.
  5. Two passport size photographs of the executant/s.

NOC FOR ISSUANCE OF PASSPORT FOR SPOUSE / CHILDREN IN INDIA

Question: I have to apply for new passport for my children / wife in India, I have been asked to submit a NOC, What is the document ?

Answer: You are required to send a No Objection (NOC) affidavit to apply for new passport for children and wife in India. The following documents is required for the same :

  1. Personal presence of the father /mother/ husband making the NOC affidavit.
  2. Valid passport in original and a photocopy (first / last and valid visa page).

Question: What document is required from the Indian Consulate, to enable me to apply for a visit / residence visa for my family member?

Answer: To apply for a visit / residence visa for any of your family member, Dubai Immigration needs the following documents duly attested by the Consulate General of India, Dubai

  1. Marriage certificate (incase of spouse)
  2. Birth certificate (incase of children)
  3. Incase of sponsoring only one of the parents, sponsor need to substantiate the absence
    of the other parent (eg: Death Certificate, Divorce Decree etc)
